A Night of Celebration, Connection & Community
Last Saturday night, The Bindery in Tacoma was the place to be as BECO hosted its highly anticipated Holiday Mixer. From start to finish, the energy was electric and the connections were genuine.
Attendees arrived dressed to impress, ready to celebrate the season in style. The evening kicked off with a warm welcome from BECO Project Manager, Candice Richardson and Founder Shyan Selah, who spoke passionately about the power of Black excellence and the importance of moving forward with authenticity.
But that wasn’t all — the spotlight was shared with some remarkable community members. Rodney McCurry, the new Head Football Coach for female football team, the Seattle Majestics, and Kevin Baker, owner of Baker Consulting in Federal Way, took the mic to highlight their business ventures and career achievements, inspiring everyone in attendance.
The crowd was then treated to an unexpected but unforgettable moment of laughter when rising comedian Kevin “KJ” Johnson hit the stage with an impromptu comedy set that had the entire room in stitches. His humor was as fresh as the night’s energy — bold, and authentic.
Guests enjoyed every moment while indulging in complimentary drinks and mouthwatering Creole soul cuisine from the Black and female-owned culinary powerhouse, Come Eat Daddy.
More than a party, the BECO Holiday Mixer was a celebration of growth, opportunity, and excellence and everyone, including the BECO team, left inspired to dream bigger and do more in 2025.
